Book Update #2: Progress of the Fungi Novel

This speculative fiction will be a little different than the Kaia series. It is for the Millennials who love a mix of English sarcasm, dad jokes, and apocalyptic scenarios.

Fungi Novel Progress:

Turns out, showing up for three hours a day actually leads to progress. Who knew?

I’m now 46,000 words into the second draft of my fungi-apocalypse novel—officially past the halfway mark of what will be around 80,000 words. And honestly? It’s getting juicy. I’m more proud of this book than I can say.

This story blends my love of dry British humor with a splash of American slapstick. It’s more character-driven than my other novels, and it explores our fragile, plastic-dependent world through the lens of quiet catastrophe.

This isn’t an all-out action story. It’s a slice-of-life in the apocalypse—because even when everything’s falling apart, people still find ways to surprise each other. And sometimes, even make the world a little better.

Publishing Goal:

The Secret Project: Finish the 2 drafts by the end of September, probably mid-October. Then, prepare it for alpha readers.

Book 2 in the Kaia series: Start Draft 2 by the end of October, and maybe share the title?

Book 3 in the Kaia series: Focus on finishing plot details and theme during draft 2 of Book 2.

A Military Academy Fantasy Duology: A loose idea I am currently thinking about to start once the other books are in the publishing stages. – This might change to another book idea by the time I get there.
